Water parks may not be the first thing to come to mind when you think of New Jersey so it might come as a surprise to learn that the Garden State has an assortment of water parks to choose from.
Whilst there are few things better than the excitement of an outdoor water park in the summer, Jersey’s changeable weather means that sometimes it’s much better to have a roof over your head.
It’s good to know that there are a number of indoor water parks in New Jersey. Like their alfresco counterparts, these water parks are overflowing with exciting rides and water-based fun.

Sahara Sam’s Oasis (West Berlin, NJ)
Sahara Sam’s Oasis is one of the premium indoor water parks in NJ. Located in West Berlin, NJ, the park is readily accessible from Philadelphia (20 miles), Atlantic City (45 miles), Wilmington, Del. (45 miles), and Newark, NJ (83 miles).
The park features a number of body and tube slides, including Mount Kilimanjaro, a tube slide in which the whole family can ride together at the same time. Water-based basketball and adventure playgrounds are also available, as is a pool and slide area dedicated solely to toddlers.
Sahara Sam’s Oasis also features New Jersey’s only surfing simulators, which enables visitors to try out their surfing skills on artificial waves.
In addition to its indoor attractions, the park also features outdoor pools and attractions, perfect for those hot summer months.
CoCo Key Water Resort (Mount Laurel, NJ)
Located about 11 miles from Sahara Sam’s Oasis, the CoCo Key Water Resort also hosts a variety of indoor pools, water slides and other attractions.
Situated in Mount Laurel, NJ, near Interstate 295, the park features six water slides, three of which are more than 300 yards long. The three shorter slides are ideal for younger visitors, as is the Parrot’s Perch adventure playground about which they can be found.
A lazy river allows visitors to meander slowly along a 300-foot route. Water-based basketball offers fun for adults and children alike, as does the Lily Pad Adventure assault course.
Adults will find indoor and outdoor spas ideal for unwinding whilst the kids have fun.
Other indoor water parks in NJ
A number of other indoor water parks can be found within the Garden State.
The Montego Bay Resort and Conference Center in North Wildwood, NJ, features a small water park with water slides, as well as a heated indoor pool with Tiki bar and a heated outdoor pool.
The Crystal Springs Resort in Hamburg, NJ, advertises a biosphere pool complex, which features one water slide and an underwater aquarium. With a Jacuzzi grotto, sauna and delicious tropical cocktails, the resort is more geared towards adults though.

During the summer, when an indoor water park just doesn’t cut it, New Jersey also offers a number of enjoyable outdoor water parks.
