There is also the Meiji Shrine. This shrine is a Shinto shrine that is dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken. The history of Japan has given credit to the emperor for helping Japan to become modern in the late 19th century and 20th century. The emperor passed in 1912. There is a forest that surrounds the shrine that is very notable and is considered to be a part of the Yoyogi Park. This forest is the home of over 245 species of trees from all over the world. You can expect to spend around one to two hours visiting the shrine and the forest surrounding the shrine.

The Sensoji Temple is also another hot spot to visit while in Tokyo. This temple serves as one of the oldest religious sites in Tokyo and is also the most popular Buddhist spot. Even though the temple claims to be an older and ancient temple it was actually reconstructed. The temple was razed during World War II and the only surviving piece was the eastern gate. Since then the temple was rebuilt and then commercialized very heavily. This sadly does take away from the serene design of the temple. Guests can expect to spend one to two hours visiting the temple and taking in the sites that it has to offer. Admission to the temple is free as well.
