Hershey Park is a popular amusement park based in the Derry township of Pennsylvania in the United States. It has been a popular location since its inception for friends and family to meet up for what can be described as some good old fun. Like all amusement parks, the area is full of different rides that one is able to enjoy with their friends. The rides vary in design and one is able to pick the one most suited to their wants from the different options available. The amusement park was established in 1906 and has been a pillar in the community of amusement parks, inspiring the revolution that started off the amusement park chain trend.
The park is named after its founder Milton Hershey and was originally two names upon its introduction (that is, Hershey Park) but was later changed in 1970 with the two words being combined. One interesting fact about Hershey Park is that the park was originally founded by the Mr. Hershey as a leisure park available to the employees of the Hershey Chocolate company. This has obviously changed over the years and it is now open to the public as a commercial venture by the Hershey Entertainment & Resorts Company.
The park is over 100 acres large and has a huge variety of rides in the area totaling up to 70 options that are available to its visitors. These include a number of creative attractions such as the Kissing Tower which is a popular destination for young couples and the young at heart. The Hershey Park also has a zoo in its area known as the Zoo America – North American Wildlife Park. This zoo is located next to Hershey’s Chocolate World which is a public center with a number of shops and restaurants available for its visitors. The main attraction of this area however has to be the tour ride with its chocolate factory theme that is a marvel for children and other chocolate enthusiasts alike.
Apart from the various rollercoaster rides that are available in the park, there are a number of alternative options that are also available for those who may find the first option a bit too thrilling. Such individuals are able to enjoy more leisure paced rides such as bumper cars and other various game booths that are not too extraneous to one’s heart rate. The amusement park has also ensured that it is a fun-filled place for all ages with over 40 kids rides available for those who are too young to enjoy the older attractions. There are also a number of themed sections within the park which add a little extra spice onto the overall experience should one get a chance to visit all these areas.
The Boardwalk at Hershey Park presents a viable option for those who may be more attracted to water themed parks and offers a number of enjoyable rides based in this section. This includes a small wave pool intended for children known as the Bay Pier as well as a larger one for the older revelers known as The Shore. The Boardwalk offers a wonderful option for those who may be in the mood to cool of with some fun water packed activities.
